Ingredients
Scale
- 1 thick-cut slice of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 large free-range eggs
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients for ease of preparation.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the butter and stir frequently until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty fragrance.
- Toast the sourdough slice in the browned butter for about 2–3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until desired doneness (3-4 minutes for sunny-side-up, or scramble until just set).
- Season the eggs with salt and pepper, and top the sourdough with the cooked eggs. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh herbs or chili flakes.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For variations, substitute the sourdough with any bread you have, and use olive oil for a dairy-free option.
