Description
A delightful twist on the classic rice krispie treat infused with the unique flavors of Thai tea.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups Rice Krispies or any crunchy cereal
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups marshmallows (mini or regular)
- 1/4 cup Thai tea mix
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Add in the marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth (about 4-5 minutes).
- Brew a strong cup of Thai tea by steeping a few tablespoons of the tea mix in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then let cool slightly.
- Pour the brewed tea and sweetened condensed milk into the melted marshmallow mixture and stir well.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal and the marshmallow mixture. Fold gently until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly and pressing down gently.
- Let the treats cool for 10-15 minutes, then cut into squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
Avoid compacting the mixture too tightly to keep it airy and light. Use low heat to melt the marshmallows to prevent burning.
