  • Author: sara
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delightful twist on the classic rice krispie treat infused with the unique flavors of Thai tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies or any crunchy cereal
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups marshmallows (mini or regular)
  • 1/4 cup Thai tea mix
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Add in the marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth (about 4-5 minutes).
  3. Brew a strong cup of Thai tea by steeping a few tablespoons of the tea mix in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then let cool slightly.
  4. Pour the brewed tea and sweetened condensed milk into the melted marshmallow mixture and stir well.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crispy rice cereal and the marshmallow mixture. Fold gently until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly and pressing down gently.
  7. Let the treats cool for 10-15 minutes, then cut into squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

Avoid compacting the mixture too tightly to keep it airy and light. Use low heat to melt the marshmallows to prevent burning.
