  • 2 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or cilantro) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the turmeric and allow it to bloom for about a minute.
  5. Add the rice to the skillet, stirring to coat in the garlic-turmeric mixture.
  6. Pour in the vegetable broth, then season with salt and pepper.
  7. Bring to a gentle boil, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes.
  8. After 15 minutes, remove from heat but leave covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Letting the rice rest post-cooking ensures the grains become perfectly fluffy. Don’t skip rinsing the rice to keep it separate.
