Description

A comforting and flavorful Beef & Scallion Stir Fry, perfect for quick weeknight dinners and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced against the grain
  • 1 bunch scallions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Start by slicing the beef against the grain into thin strips. Chop the scallions and any other vegetables you’d like to incorporate.
  2. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with a bit of soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes while you prep the rest.
  3. Heat the Skillet: Preheat your skillet over high heat and add a splash of oil. If the oil starts to shimmer, it’s time to add the beef in a single layer.
  4. Cook the Beef: Sear the beef for about 2-3 minutes until it develops a nice brown crust. Remove it from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Stir-Fry the Veggies: Add more oil if needed, and toss in your vegetables, starting with those that take longer to cook first, like bell peppers, followed by the scallions towards the end.
  6. Combine Everything: Return the beef to the skillet, add the remaining marinade, and toss everything together. Cook for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve it over rice or noodles, and enjoy with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are prepped and ready to go before starting to stir fry to maintain speed and quality.
