- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 medium orange
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ½ cups fresh cranberries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and orange zest.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the fresh cranberries gently.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute butter with coconut oil. For a nutty flavor, mix almond flour with all-purpose flour. Lemon zest can replace orange zest.
