Description

A delightful turkey roulade filled with a savory medley of mushrooms, herbs, and black forest ham, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless turkey breast
  • Black forest ham or bacon
  • Cremini or shiitake mushrooms
  • Cream cheese
  • Spinach or kale
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Onion (diced)
  • Fresh thyme and rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the turkey by slicing it horizontally to create a pocket.
  2. In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant, then add mushrooms and cook until golden.
  3. Mix in spinach, cream cheese, herbs, and season with salt and pepper; let cool slightly.
  4. Spread the filling evenly over the turkey breast and layer with ham or bacon.
  5. Roll the turkey up tightly and secure with kitchen twine.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and sear the roulade until browned.
  7. Transfer to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using turkey bacon or sautéed spinach instead of ham or bacon.
