Description
A comforting pasta dish featuring twirls of pasta tossed in a creamy Parmesan sauce with freshly cracked black pepper.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz twirl pasta or fusilli
- 2 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley or basil)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Toss in your twirls, cooking them until al dente, usually about 8–10 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
- Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant but not browned (about 1–2 minutes).
- Combine: Gently toss the drained pasta in the skillet. Gradually add in the grated Parmesan, stirring to coat the pasta and create a rich, creamy sauce. If it looks too thick, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired creaminess.
- Season: Crack fresh black pepper generously over the dish and add salt to taste. Toss in chopped fresh herbs for that fresh burst of flavor.
- Serve: Dish it up hot, with extra Parmesan sprinkled on top if you’re feeling indulgent. Enjoy!
Notes
Trust your instincts while cooking; adjust the cheese and oil as needed for a velvety consistency.
