Description

A delightful appetizer featuring ripe pears stuffed with creamy blue cheese, walnuts, and honey, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears (Anjou or Bosc)
  • 1 cup creamy blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
  • Balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Halve each pear and remove the seeds and core with a melon baller or spoon.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the blue cheese, chopped nuts, and honey.
  4. Stuff each pear half generously with the cheese mixture, allowing it to mound slightly.
  5. Place the stuffed pears in a baking dish and drizzle with extra honey if desired.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Prepare the pears in advance up until the baking step for a make-ahead option.
