- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped toasted pecans
- 1 cup chocolate chunks
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and let it cool slightly.
- Combine the browned butter with granulated and brown sugars, and cream until smooth and fluffy.
- Add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then mix into the butter mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chunks and chopped toasted pecans.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Scoop balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the dough and do not skip chilling for the best texture.
