Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Combine the browned butter with granulated and brown sugars, and cream until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then mix into the butter mixture.
  5. Fold in chocolate chunks and chopped toasted pecans.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Scoop balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers slightly soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
