- 1 batch pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup white pizza sauce (butter, flour, milk, garlic powder, nutmeg)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
- 1 cup fresh arugula
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour to form a roux, then gradually add 1 cup of milk while stirring until thickened (about 5 minutes). Season with garlic powder and nutmeg.
- Spread the warm white sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
- Evenly distribute crushed candy canes over the pizza.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Sprinkle fresh arugula on top after removing from the oven.
- Dust with powdered sugar and slice to serve.
Notes
For a unique twist, blend mozzarella with gouda. Use gluten-free dough if needed.
