- Apples (mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the bottom and sides of a 9-inch round cake pan.

- Arrange sliced apples over the caramel mixture.
- Cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually mix this into the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter over the arranged apples in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
Notes
For extra decadence, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the cake after inverting. Ensure the pan is well-greased to avoid sticking.
