Description

Delightful homemade donuts filled with warm, gooey caramel that create a sweet eruption with each bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Caramel sauce (for filling)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Pipe the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity halfway.
  6. Place a teaspoon of caramel sauce in the center of each donut cavity.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for a minute before transferring to a wire rack and enjoy!

Notes

For gluten-free donuts, substitute almond flour for all-purpose flour. If you prefer a lower-fat option, you can use applesauce in place of butter.
