  • Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the cherry soda and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually fold into the wet mixture.
  5. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and tops are set.
