- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup cherry soda
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the cherry soda and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually fold into the wet mixture.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and tops are set.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
