Cheese Chicken Thigh Pastry

  • Author: sara
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings
  • Diet: Non-Vegetarian

Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring savory chicken thighs, creamy cheese, and flaky pastry, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • Cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Store-bought puff pastry
  • Fresh mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • Fresh garlic
  • Yellow or white onion
  • Fresh thyme or parsley
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat butter over medium heat, add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown, then add diced chicken thighs, seasoning with salt, pepper, and herbs. Cook until chicken is no longer pink, about 7-8 minutes, then stir in cheese to melt.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry until thin but sturdy.
  4. Cut pastry into squares or circles, place filling in the center, fold over and crimp edges to seal.
  5. Place on a baking sheet, brush with butter, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool slightly before serving, garnishing with herbs if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, swap chicken for firm tofu or add more vegetables. Allow filling to cool before wrapping in pastry to prevent sogginess.
