Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5 minutes or until foamy.
  2. Make the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix until it forms a dough. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  3. Let the dough rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until it doubles in size—about 60 minutes.
  4. Shape the bites: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into small pieces. Place a cube of cheese in the center of each piece and pinch to seal, forming a ball.
