Ingredients
- Boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
- Marinara sauce
- Fresh mozzarella cheese
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Italian breadcrumbs
- Fresh herbs (basil and oregano)
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pound the chicken to an even thickness and season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
- Dredge the chicken in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce, place the chicken on top, and cover with remaining marinara and a mixture of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is gooey and golden.
- Optional: Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a crispy top.
