Description

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
  • Marinara sauce
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Italian breadcrumbs
  • Fresh herbs (basil and oregano)
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pound the chicken to an even thickness and season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
  3. Dredge the chicken in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce, place the chicken on top, and cover with remaining marinara and a mixture of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is gooey and golden.
  7. Optional: Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a crispy top.
