Description
A delightful dessert featuring a buttery crust, rich chocolate filling, and a silky caramel drizzle, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (pre-made or homemade)
- 200g high-quality dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 eggs (pasteurized)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1/4 cup cornstarch (or arrowroot powder)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Sea salt (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pre-bake the pie crust until lightly golden, about 15 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine chopped chocolate with heavy cream, stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and cornstarch. Slowly pour in the chocolate mixture while whisking constantly. Pour this filling into the cooled crust.
- Bake the pie for 25-30 minutes until the filling is set but slightly jiggles in the center. Cool at room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Once cooled, drizzle the caramel sauce over the top and optionally sprinkle with sea salt.
- Slice and serve, enjoying the delightful reactions as your family takes their first bites.
Notes
