Ingredients

  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the dough into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and slice into bars.

Notes

Try adding nuts or using dark chocolate chips for a richer taste. These bars can be frozen for up to three months.
