Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies that evoke childhood memories of warmth and love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and centers look soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a chewy texture, slightly underbake the cookies.
