Description
Delightful heart-shaped cookies with a rich chocolate flavor and buttery texture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and sea salt until the dough comes together.
- If the dough is too soft, wrap it in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about ½ inch thickness and cut out heart shapes.
- Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until firm.
- Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack. Decorate as desired.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil. Experiment with different add-ins like chocolate chips or nuts.
