Delightful layers of cream cheese and cranberry in elegant trifle cups, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup crushed ginger snaps or shortbread cookies
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: orange juice or zest

- Prepare the cranberries: Rinse and sort the cranberries, discarding any soft ones. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, sugar, and a splash of water or orange juice. Cook for 10-15 minutes until cranberries pop and thicken. Let cool.
- Make the cream cheese mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, then fold in whipped topping until combined.
- Assemble the trifle cups: Start with a layer of cookie crumbles, then a layer of cream cheese mixture, followed by cranberry sauce. Repeat until cups are filled, finishing with whipped topping.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
