Instructions
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt, then gradually add to the creamed mixture until well incorporated.
- Divide the dough into portions and add food coloring, kneading until colors are vibrant.
- Roll out each colored dough and assemble into layers, rolling tightly into a log and chilling for at least an hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the chilled dough and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden at the edges.
- Cool completely before decorating with icing or sprinkles.
