Description

A festive and moist Red Velvet Poke Cake filled with delicious cream cheese frosting, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, blend the red velvet cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and buttermilk until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes before poking holes in it.
  5. Whip the cream cheese and butter together until fluffy, then mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  6. Poke holes all over the cake with a skewer and spread the frosting over it, letting it seep into the holes.
  7. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Measure ingredients accurately and allow the cake to cool before poking to prevent a melted mess.
