Description
A delightful and festive wreath made of flaky crescent roll dough filled with savory sausage and fresh herbs, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package crescent roll dough
- 1 pound breakfast sausage (or Italian sausage)
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown your sausage until fully cooked. Drain off excess grease.
- Add minced garlic and fresh herbs to the skillet, stirring for a minute until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in the cream cheese until blended.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange the triangle pieces in a circular shape, overlapping them slightly.
- Place spoonfuls of the sausage and herb mixture at the base of each triangle.
- Gently roll each triangle over the filling and tuck the ends under the wreath for a tidy finish.
- Brush the wreath with melted butter and sprinkle with cheese if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure the sausage is well-cooked and well-drained to prevent a soggy wreath. Use fresh herbs for the best flavor.
