Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients to form the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then add cream and vanilla to desired consistency.
- Spread frosting on the cooled cake, rolling it if desired, and dust with powdered sugar for a snowy effect.
- Garnish with chopped nuts, edible glitter, or fresh berries as desired.
