  • 1 packet Instant Yeast
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and ground cinnamon. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, then let it rise covered in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. Once risen, punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before folding and cutting into strips.
  5. Layer strips into a muffin tin and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  7. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over cooled cruffins and enjoy!
