Description

A heartwarming dish featuring tender chicken cooked in a rich, creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and brown the chicken briefly.
  3. Sauté onions and garlic in the same skillet until fragrant.
  4. In the crockpot, add the browned chicken, sautéed onions, cream of mushroom soup, broth, thyme, parsley, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Set the crockpot on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  6. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the pot and adjust seasonings. For a thicker gravy, whisk in a cornstarch slurry.
  7. Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or biscuits, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

You can substitute chicken with tofu or seitan for a vegetarian option, and add veggies like carrots or peas for extra texture.
