- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
- Milk and blue food coloring for icing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk with yeast and a tablespoon of sugar; allow it to foam for about five minutes.
- Whisk in the melted butter and eggs, then add flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt; knead until smooth for 6-8 minutes.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about one hour.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (add nuts or chocolate chips if desired).
- Roll into a log and slice into 1-2 inch sections; place in a greased baking dish.
- Let rolls rise again for 30 minutes; preheat oven to 350°F.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- While cooling, mix powdered sugar with milk and blue food coloring for icing; drizzle over rolls.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Allow rolls to cool a bit before icing to avoid melting.
