Description

Delightful cinnamon rolls topped with vibrant blue icing, perfect for breakfast or brunch gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • Milk and blue food coloring for icing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk with yeast and a tablespoon of sugar; allow it to foam for about five minutes.
  2. Whisk in the melted butter and eggs, then add flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt; knead until smooth for 6-8 minutes.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about one hour.
  4. Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (add nuts or chocolate chips if desired).
  5. Roll into a log and slice into 1-2 inch sections; place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Let rolls rise again for 30 minutes; preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While cooling, mix powdered sugar with milk and blue food coloring for icing; drizzle over rolls.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Allow rolls to cool a bit before icing to avoid melting.
