- 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
- 2 boneless chicken breasts, cooked and diced
- 4 oz thinly sliced deli ham
- 1 cup Gruyère or Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- A pinch of nutmeg
- Fresh parsley or chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted water until al dente.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for about a minute.
- Add cooked chicken and sliced ham to the skillet, warming through.
- Stir in heavy cream and let it simmer until slightly thickened.
- Gradually mix in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
- Drain pasta and toss it in the skillet until well-coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half or Greek yogurt for heavy cream. Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
