Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, cooked and diced
  • 4 oz thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1 cup Gruyère or Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • Fresh parsley or chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted water until al dente.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for about a minute.
  3. Add cooked chicken and sliced ham to the skillet, warming through.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and let it simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Gradually mix in shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Drain pasta and toss it in the skillet until well-coated with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half or Greek yogurt for heavy cream. Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
