Instructions
- Boil the diced taro until tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Drain and mash with cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the taro and cheese mixture between two slices of bread and butter the outside.
- Cook the sandwich on medium heat until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- In a saucepan, combine oats and water/milk, bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in chopped sweet red dates and splashes of rice wine, cooking for an additional minute.
