Ingredients

- Fresh cranberries (or dried cranberries)
- Firm apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks of celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter (or olive oil)
- Fresh sage and thyme
- 3 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cut bread into cubes and let it dry overnight or toast slightly in the oven.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion and celery until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, cranberries, apples, and herbs.
- Pour in broth gradually, mixing until bread is moistened but not soggy.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish, cover with foil, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Uncover for the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
