Description
A sweet and tangy jam made with fresh cranberries and juicy oranges, perfect for spreading on biscuits and adding a touch of nostalgia to your breakfast table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 2 large navel oranges (zested and juiced)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Rinse cranberries in cold water, discarding any soft or brown ones.
- Zest and juice the oranges, keeping the zest for later.
- In a large saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce to a simmer, and stir in granulated sugar. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- To check doneness, place a spoonful of jam on a chilled plate and run your finger through it. If it holds its shape, it’s ready.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and pour into sterilized jars. Allow cooling before sealing.
Notes
For added flair, consider incorporating spices like cinnamon or ginger. Store in sterilized glass jars for up to two weeks in the fridge or freeze for longer storage.
