Instructions

  1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook the orzo according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil, then add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp to the skillet and sauté until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Incorporate broccoli florets and cook until vibrant green, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and simmer gently, thickening slightly. Add reserved pasta water if necessary.
  7. Fold in the cooked orzo and season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
  8. Add grated Parmesan cheese, stir until melted, and adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with extra cheese and herbs.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute shrimp with grilled chicken or sautéed tofu. Use whole grain orzo for a healthier twist.
