Description
A delightful pie featuring a velvety cream filling enriched with crushed pecans, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup pecans, freshly chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pre-made graham cracker crust or pie crust
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a homemade crust, combine crushed graham crackers, sugar, and melted butter, then press into a pie dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. If using a store-bought crust, set it aside.
- Toast the pecans: In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the chopped pecans for about 5 minutes until fragrant.
- Make the cream filling: In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Gradually mix in vanilla extract, then gently fold in whipped cream.
- Combine with pecans: Gently fold the toasted pecans into the cream mixture, reserving some for topping if desired.
- Assemble: Pour the cream mixture into the cooled crust and spread evenly. Top with reserved pecans.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. Cut into slices and serve with additional whipped cream or pecan halves if desired.
Notes
For a unique twist, consider adding a splash of bourbon to the cream mixture.
