Description

A comforting dish of tender orzo coated in a rich creamy sauce with sautéed spinach and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the orzo in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the fresh spinach and sauté until wilted, about 2 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low, pour in the heavy cream, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Add the cooked orzo to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  6. Gradually mix in the grated Parmesan until melted. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Be careful not to overcook the orzo. Freshly grated Parmesan will provide the best flavor.
