- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 can (12 oz) tuna, drained
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup sautéed mushrooms
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (thyme, parsley) to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Sauté the mushrooms in a skillet with a little olive oil or butter until golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles, drained tuna, sautéed mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and cheddar cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs to taste.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly, adding extra cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Don’t skip sautéing the mushrooms for better flavor, and feel free to add vegetables like peas or corn for extra nutrition.
