Description

A comforting and nostalgic casserole filled with creamy sauce, tender egg noodles, tuna, and sautéed mushrooms, topped with crunchy breadcrumbs.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 8 oz sautéed mushrooms
  • 1 cup frozen peas or corn
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic and sliced mushrooms until golden brown.
  4. In a large bowl, combine drained tuna, sautéed mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, peas or corn, and season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  5. Fold in the cooked egg noodles until well coated.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish, top with breadcrumbs and drizzle with melted butter if desired.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and the top is golden.
  8. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or mustard for enhanced flavor. Ensure not to overcook the noodles.
