Description
Deliciously crispy chicken wings marinated in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, well-drained
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium optional)
- 1/4 cup honey (or agave syrup)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger (or ground ginger)
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder (or a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg)
- 1 cup cornstarch (for dredging)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and five-spice powder. Toss the chicken wings in this marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes, preferably in the refrigerator for a few hours.
- Coat each marinated wing in cornstarch, ensuring they are evenly covered.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the wings in batches, frying for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain the wings on paper towels and toss in extra sauce if desired. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough to achieve crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the pan when frying.
