- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup beer or sparkling water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Spices (cumin, smoked paprika, etc.), to taste
- 8 corn or flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 avocado, sliced

- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dip fish in batter and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Place fried fish on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil; keep warm in the oven.
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or over a flame for a few seconds until pliable.
