Description

A comforting and hearty dish of chicken cooked slowly in a creamy gravy, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 1 cup creamy gravy (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and any additional spices you prefer.
  2. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant, then add to the crockpot.
  3. Layer the chicken in the crockpot, followed by the sautéed vegetables and garlic. Pour the gravy mix or homemade gravy over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
  5. Serve whole or shred the chicken in the pot. Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or bread.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For a thicker gravy, remove chicken and add a cornstarch slurry to the gravy, cooking until thickened.
