- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulked and washed
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, wash and hull the strawberries, then combine them with the fresh cranberries.
- Add sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to the berry mixture, stirring gently to coat the fruit evenly.
- Pour the mixture into your crockpot and set it to low, allowing it to cook for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Check consistency after cooking; for a thicker jam, cook an additional hour. If chunkier jam is desired, lightly mash the fruits with a fork.
- Pour the jam into sterilized jars while warm, leaving about a half-inch headspace. Seal tightly and cool completely before refrigerating or freezing.
Notes
Taste the jam during the final stages of cooking. Add more sugar if you prefer a sweeter jam.
