Ingredients
- Puff pastry (or croissant dough)
- Fresh mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
- Garlic (minced)
- Cream cheese or Gruyère cheese
- Fresh parsley or thyme
- Egg wash (beaten egg)
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add chopped mushrooms and cook until tender.
- Allow mixture to cool slightly.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface until 1/8-inch thick.
- Cut dough into squares, place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture and cheese in the center.
- Fold dough corners over filling and press to seal.
- Brush each assembled bite with egg wash.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until puffed and golden.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
Try adding spinach or artichokes for variation. Serve with garlic aioli or marinara sauce.
