Description

Delightful, flaky croissant bites filled with savory sautéed mushrooms and cheese, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Puff pastry (or croissant dough)
  • Fresh mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Cream cheese or Gruyère cheese
  • Fresh parsley or thyme
  • Egg wash (beaten egg)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add chopped mushrooms and cook until tender.
  3. Allow mixture to cool slightly.
  4. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface until 1/8-inch thick.
  5. Cut dough into squares, place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture and cheese in the center.
  6. Fold dough corners over filling and press to seal.
  7. Brush each assembled bite with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  9. Cool before serving.

Notes

Try adding spinach or artichokes for variation. Serve with garlic aioli or marinara sauce.
