- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 whole eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup flour (for tart shell)

- 1/2 cup softened butter (for tart shell)
- Candy canes or crushed peppermint (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1/2 cup of softened butter. Mix until crumbly.
- Press the mixture into a tart pan evenly and prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbles.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Let it cool.
- Chop the dark chocolate and melt it gently over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
- Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form—set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until thick.
- Gradually pour the melted chocolate into the egg mixture, mixing well. Stir in peppermint extract.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until fully incorporated.
- Pour the mousse into the cooled tart shell and smooth the top.
- Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes (4 hours) or until set.
- Once set, sprinkle the top with crushed candy canes.
- Slice with a hot knife and serve.
