Description

A delightful treat combining crunchy Chex cereal with creamy peanut butter and melted chocolate, perfect for sharing with family and friends.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex cereal (rice or corn)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the peanut butter and corn syrup together in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  3. Add the Chex cereal, folding it until all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Press the mixture into the prepared dish using a spatula.
  5. Melt the semisweet chocolate in another saucepan.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal layer.
  7. Sprinkle butterscotch chips on top, if desired.
  8. Let it set for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator or a couple of hours at room temperature.
  9. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Substitutions include almond butter or sunflower seed butter for nut-free versions. Honey can be used instead of corn syrup if needed.
