Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (fresh, dried, or gluten-free)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried thyme (or parsley)
- 1 tbsp olive oil for searing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and seasonings. Mix until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs for 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
- Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by heating cranberry sauce, soy sauce, and Worcestershire in a saucepan over low heat.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, toss them in the sauce to coat.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, allow the meatballs to rest in the sauce for about 30 minutes before serving. Can be made in advance and reheated.
