Ingredients

  • 8 oz high-quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)
  • Zest of 1 fresh orange
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Cocoa powder or chopped nuts for rolling (walnuts, pistachios, or shredded coconut)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler until smooth.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it simmers, then pour over the melted chocolate.
  3. Gently fold in the orange zest.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until firm enough to handle.
  5. Roll small amounts of the ganache into balls using your hands or a melon baller.
  6. Coat each truffle in cocoa powder or chopped nuts.
  7. Chill the rolled truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet for at least 30 minutes.
