Ingredients
- Ripe tomatoes (heirloom or vine-ripened)
- Fresh cucumbers (preferably English)
- Fresh mozzarella balls
- Fresh basil leaves
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Wash the tomatoes and cucumbers thoroughly. Slice the tomatoes into thick rounds and the cucumbers into half-moons or rounds.
- On a large platter, alternate layers of cucumbers, tomatoes, and mozzarella.
- Tear the basil leaves and scatter them on top of the salad.
- Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Let the salad sit for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
