Description

Delightful pecan pie bars with a buttery crust and caramel-like filling, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix together flour and softened butter until crumbly, then press it into a greased baking dish. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
  2. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in the toasted pecans, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the filling.
  4. Pour the mixture over the baked crust and return it to the oven. Bake for another 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly bubbly.
  5. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares. Optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a nut-free version, use sunflower seeds or crispy cereal instead of pecans.
