Description
Delightful pecan pie bars with a buttery crust and caramel-like filling, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix together flour and softened butter until crumbly, then press it into a greased baking dish. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
- Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the toasted pecans, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- Pour the mixture over the baked crust and return it to the oven. Bake for another 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly bubbly.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares. Optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a nut-free version, use sunflower seeds or crispy cereal instead of pecans.
