Description

A delightful puff pastry filled with creamy goat cheese and sweet figs, perfect for gatherings or a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 810 fresh figs, chopped
  • 4 oz soft goat cheese, crumbled
  • 12 tbsp honey
  • Fresh thyme, for garnish
  • 1 egg, beaten with a splash of water (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into 4-5 inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, combine goat cheese, figs, honey, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each pastry square and fold corners to seal.
  5. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with fresh thyme.
  6. Bake on a parchment-lined sheet for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Feel free to use pear slices as a substitute for figs if they are out of season.
