- 8 oz Good quality dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
- ½ cup Unsalted butter
- 4 large Eggs
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a round cake pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.
- In a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt the dark chocolate and butter together until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Carefully fold the melted chocolate-butter mixture into the egg and sugar blend. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is set and the center is slightly soft.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Serve with whipped cream or fresh berries, or enjoy alone.
